Homemade Hamburger Helper
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground meat of your choice (I use either beef or pork, but ground venison would work too - OR you could even use Italian sausage or chorizo for a Mexican or Italian kick!)
2 cup elbow pasta
2 cups whole milk
1.5 cups water
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1-2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 TBSP tomato paste
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 cup shredded cheese (colby jack, pepper jack, sharp cheddar - whatever you like!)
Directions:
Start by browning your ground meat. Once it’s brown, add in your tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce and stir well until all of your meat is coated. Next, add in your spices, milk and water and bring to a boil. Turn down your heat to a low simmer and add in your pasta. Stir it well to cover it with the liquid and put the lid on your pan. Cook on low for 10-12 mins stirring occassionally to make sure your pasta isn’t sticking and that it is cooking evenly. If you see that it is needing little more water, add it in. Once the pasta is done, add in your shredded cheese and stir until melted! Hope you enjoy!
